Weekly Recap
Hi friends…since we last spoke
Been full on this last week with work, podcast, training commitments and a few Brookomode projects. However, I love it. Also, changed my routine and waking up a lot earlier and has been massive for me so far. Will update you next week.
2 Ideas from me
1. Pursuing something you like is the core ingredient of consistency
I thought of this as I drove to the factory to write this week’s email. I love writing them so far, it’s very rewarding to think my words may positively impact your life in some way. I like this feeling. I like thinking and reflecting and making something of it. This is at the core of my consistency with all my Brookomode stuff. I genuinely love it.
Inverting this, I started a few things for Brookomode that I didn’t enjoy as much and the consistency dropped off straight away i.e, Youtube highlight clips for episodes.
So, if you’re making plans for your life and want to make consistent improvements, pick something you like! Want to get fitter and healthier? Great but pick the exercises that you like and will adhere to, not something you think will make you look a certain way or been told to do by someone.
This is inherently an obvious statement in hindsight but how many of you begin things you don’t like hoping that you will change your mind about it down the road? Start with the right intentions and the impact will almost always be positive in self-growth.
2. Being kind isn’t always free but very worthwhile
I love the quote that captures kindness as being free but let be realistic. A lot of the time it takes effort and going out of our way for the benefit of someone else. So what? This is what being a good person is all about!
Being kind can take our time and our mental energy but the joy it brings to other people is priceless. I’m not saying that kindness is always hard to do but rather it’s naive to simplify kindness as a simple to do thing. It can be inconvenient and not a priority, but this is at the core of kindness. Going out of your way for someone else.
Kindness can be very simple, gaining courage to tell someone how much you truly appreciate them or giving a compliment to a stranger. But a lot of the time kindness is not so simple and involves a bit our time and energy. Let me tell you from my experiences that it is definitely worthwhile and the love you give back to the world comes back 10x stronger.
I made up a saying just then that goes like this:
“A strong mind is kind and helps those left behind”
Be that person. That’s what I strive for.
1 Quote
“You won’t always get what you strive for, but you will definitely get what you settle for. You won’t magically outperform your standards.”
– James Clear
This is a great conception of accepting that your aspirations are ceilings for your circumstances. You can’t go past what you set as the standard in your life.
i.e, If you want to become healthier, settling for junk food and overeating every day will guarantee you that you won’t magically become healthy.

Electrolytes in water to start the day and around exercise time. Perfect for summer heat and replenishing electrolytes lost to sweat during exercise. I can attest to the quality of taste, mental and physical benefit to me and the affordable price.
Game changer. Less is more for electrolytes.
