Weekly Recap
Hi friends…since we last spoke
Been another very good week. However I am a little tired, some of these early morning swims shave a few hours of sleep off me and I can feel the difference.
*Just had a 1 hour nap after this which definitely helped. Need the rest after lots of training.
Love doing them and connecting with my friends so just need to sleep a little earlier on these days. The podcast is going strong and I’m very committed to making it work, whatever that means. It’s my passion and my dream, there’s no point shying around it. I want it.
2 Ideas from me
1.Micro-opportunities, macro-realities
Steven Barlett poised this idea about your time being like a stack of chips at a roulette table and each hour you get to place one chip down. 1/3 of that is dedicated to sleep, another big portion to work and other things like exercise, eating and spending time with loved ones.
We have very limited chips to place. So you have micro-opportunities each day to start investing into the roulette table of life. Make them count and your macro-realities will come to fruition as you begin to have the life you want.
2. More than half of the pain is non-existent
When you do something, a thing, there is arguably a certain level of objective pain that makes it hard. No matter how trained you are, there is always things that push you out of your comfort zone.
However, as I’ve been exploring the comfort zone and the depths of my mind, I’ve come to realise most of the pain associated with the thing occurred before it happened and during the anticipation of it. It’s taken a while to lower my stress around the pain of the thing. A lot comes from the confidence to know you’ll get through but my main motivation comes from just having a hard conversation with myself.
I just was so sick and tired of having to have anxiety and stress related to the thing. Whatever it was, I knew the thoughts and sensations I was feeling were an overreaction but I couldn’t control myself. One of the big turning points was this huge internal conversation I had to ensure I would stop putting so much unnecessary pain onto myself. Whatever it is, I’ll find a way through and the thing will never be as bad as it seems.
Ends up making the whole experience more enjoyable because it turns the event into an opportunity and not just something that becomes relieving to get through. An opportunity to grow my mind and belief. You can’t lose.

“You can’t CHANGE the people around you, but you can change the PEOPLE around you” – unknown
Seriously good. It’s that simple and powerful. Spend your time finding the right people not trying to fix people who won’t fix themselves.
1% Tip
Unfollow the people you wouldn’t ring to talk about each other’s lives
I unfollowed 1000 people and this was one of the big determining questions to whether I would unfollow them or not.
So refreshing.
